Develop Oral Language and Logic with Sequencing Activities
Sequencing and patterning activities help children build necessary skills to be successful readers such as: left-to-right sequencing, visual discrimination, decoding, and pattern recognition.

Using sequencing cards in your Montessori environment helps children understand that stories follow a logical progression, while at the same time building on their oral storytelling skills, both of which are precursors to writing and reading.
Summer Flower Sequencing Activity Printable – Develop Oral Language and Logic

Begin simply by introducing the concept of small and large. Print and laminate four different sizes of a simple picture, like a flower. Invite children to arrange the pictures in order from smallest to largest. Later, you can add simple sequencing cards that tell a story. Begin with three cards and gradually add more cards and details. When finished, invite the children to tell you a story that follows the pictures.
We have created a beautiful, simple set of sequencing cards inspired by summer and blooming roses! Please enjoy this complimentary printable.
